Episode 89: Collateral (2004)

This week we leap with composer James Newton Howard to Tom Cruise and Jamie Foxx 2004 action thriller Collateral. Is this film as good as it seems? And how is Jamie Foxx clearly the main character but also supporting actor apparently according to Oscar nominations? We discuss this and more… We hope you enjoy.

Season 4, Episode 8

THE Leap

How did we leap here?

Composer: James Newton Howard

From: Charlie Wilson’s War

Chosen by:

Crew (Glenn)
Film (Scott)

Although Tom Hanks would have been a fun choice, Glenn felt it was too pridictable a path and so chose composer James Newton Howard. With almost 150 films composed this was a much more interesting leap that could have gone anywhere. Not surprisingly though, Scott picks a Tom Cruise action film…

Where are we leaping to?

Editor: Paul Rubell

To: The Island

Chosen by:

Crew (Mike)
Film (Glenn)

This episode we leap with editor Paul Rubell, which was a tough choice for Glenn as at first glance it seems he has mostly done Michael Mann movies, and Michael Bay movies, none of which appealed to Glenn. In the end, we leap to Michael Bay’s The Island
