Seamus McGarvey has had a varied career in cinematography, starting with shorts and documentaries, then working on a number of films from the mid 90s till today. He has also shot and directed a number of music videos. High Fidelity was one of his first more recognised films, opening the door to working with big name directors. McGarvey’s cinematography of Sahara captured the breathtaking landscapes of Morocco and Spain, where the film was shot.

Matthew McConaughey played treasure hunter Dirk Pitt in 2005’s Sahara, the same year he was voted sexiest man alive by People magazine. He went on to We Are Marshall the following year, and then in 2014 he appeared as astronaut Cooper in Interstellar. By 2014 the sexiest man alive was Chris Hemsowrth.
